Lisa “Firefly” Johnston E-RYT 500, CPT: Lisa is a Master level Yoga Teacher, Group Fitness Instructor, and Certified Personal Trainer. She is a highly respected and sought after teacher and presenter who has presented at Yoga Journal Live, Empower! Fusion Conference, Outdoor Retailer Convention, Shape “Meet and Tweet” and more. Her teaching style is creative, empowering and FUN! Her offbeat sense of humor and practical wisdom, help her students to relax and not take themselves too seriously while discovering and developing strength and flexibility of body and mind.
Over the years Lisa has played with integrating different tools (TRX®, resisistance bands, medicine balls etc…) into her personal “lab” / yoga practice. This experimentation has inspired her to innovate new exercises and ways to utilize simple pieces of resistance equipment into vinyasa (flowing yoga) classes in order to make them more dynamic, burn more calories, create more kinesthetic awareness and develop greater balance within all of the core lines of the body. Her personal practice informs and motivates her to take what she has learned and share it with as many people as possible. Some of Lisa’s programming/classes include: TRX® Yoga and TRX® Flow instructional series (California State University Northridge), Yogasport FX™ and Kettlebell Flow™.
Lisa wants athletes and fitness enthusiasts to enjoy the benefits of yoga, and she hopes that yoga practitioners will add resistance training into their asana practice in order to improve their overall strength and cardiovascular endurance. She leads master classes, teacher trainings and workshops across the United States, and is planning to expand her offerings into the international market in 2017.
Lisa also offers consulting services to individuals, gyms | clubs and companies looking to create yoga and fusion programming as well as teacher trainings.
When not teaching or practicing yoga and yoga fusion classes, Lisa loves to work out with Kettlebells, hang out with her family and friends, play in the ocean and design and create artwork on her computer.
